Finished in early 2018, our ‘Fisher’s Field’ development of 20 homes, in Risby, near Bury Edmunds, has been such a success, that St Edmundsbury Borough Council view it as a benchmark for other developers to follow. With features that include Suffolk-pitched roofs, decorative barge boards, deep timber fascias and weatherboarding, the appeal was evident when we sold 90% of the 14 open-market homes within 16 weeks of launching.
Cllr Susan Glossop, Cabinet Member for Planning and Growth at St Edmundsbury Borough Council commented:
“The Council places huge emphasis on the delivery of quality places and our planners worked very hard and closely with the applicant to ensure that the final design of this development provides just that. As a consequence, Fishers Field is a very well-designed development with an attractive layout, well-designed buildings and a high-quality setting. All of which makes it a great place to live and an example for others in the industry to follow.”
The national WhatHouse? Awards 2018 took place in November, at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London and Fleur Developments won the Gold Award for Best Small Housebuilder. These prestigious awards are generally viewed as the Oscars of the building industry and a huge honour to win.
The judges of the WhatHouse? Awards admired Fleur’s use of quality, local materials, generosity with space and light, attractive landscaping and refusal to compromise on the aesthetics. Our entry featured five of our developments – Foundry Field in Burnham Market, Parishes in Weybourne, Greencroft in Blakeney, Lady Fisher’s Field in Risby and Sea Glass in Brancaster Staithe.
Founder and Design Director, Juliette Hopkins, commented:
“We’re absolutely delighted to have won this award and to have our passion for building good-looking homes recognised nationally. As a design-led housebuilder, we are driven by our ethos of ‘Lovingly Made Luxury’ and care deeply about our mark on the landscape.”
Fleur Hill was delighted to be short listed for the Mayor’s Design Awards 2018 for our Foundry Field development in Burnham Market.
The awards celebrate local architectural excellence and craftsmanship and are presented every two years. The awards focus on how a development successfully reflects and enhances its environment and this was something we had strived exceptionally hard to achieve at Foundry Field. As such, we were delighted when this recognised by the Design Awards judges.
The idea of owning a Fleur home within beautiful Brancaster Staithe has proved a very appealing prospect. Much to our delight, we sold all 3 plots at 3@TheWillows and 7-out-of-10 open-market homes at Northshore Place before work had commenced on either site. Testimony to the reputation Fleur has for building well-designed and stylish collections in the loveliest of spots.
Work has now begun at both sites and we are making good progress.
With Plots 8, 10 & 12 at Northshore Place available, if you would like to find out more, please contact Sowerbys on 01328 730340 or firstname.lastname@example.org. The brochure is also available for download on the Northshore Place section of this website.
